The Sun set to be a digital leader

The Sun’s digital strategy is paying dividends with unique visitors soaring to 18m* in July while the proportion of mobile-only traffic was higher than any other newsbrand.

Since was made free to all visitors, traffic numbers have risen sharply with impressive double-digit percentage growth continuing with 87% of our traffic mobile only.

The dominance of The Sun in the print market remains undiminished with readership numbers standing at 4.3m**. Readership growth in the South East is a notable success story for The Sun, having increased +2% year on year.

The latest print circulation figures show that at 1.72m***, The Sun is ahead of our nearest rival, the Daily Mail, by 184k. Likewise, at 1.47m, The Sun on Sunday is 133k ahead of The Mail on Sunday having delivered a +0.3% month-on-month increase, which is considerably better that the total segment decline of -1.2%.
