Holidays promotion helps Sun sales growth
The Sun moved back above the 1.5m average daily sales mark with a 4.4 per cent month-on-month sales rise in the January ABC figures revealed today (Thursday).
This boost, driven by The Sun £9.50 Hols promotion, took the title to a daily average sale during January of 1,545,594 copies.
Sister title The Sun on Sunday also felt the benefit of the holidays campaign with a 4.9 per cent month-on-month increase in January to a weekly average sale of 1,286,859.
In a week that saw News UK titles gain a record-breaking 59 nominations for the prestigious British Press Awards, The Sunday Times also recorded a month-on-month sales rise in January to a weekly average of 739,845 (up 0.7 per cent).
The Times outsold The Daily Telegraph by more than 55,000 copies in recording a January average daily sale of 440,558.
